Joseph Camuglia

Joseph Camuglia is a troubadour from Lexingtion, KY. His songs remind me of a mix of Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Larry Norman. Joseph’s been writing 100’s of songs for many years and truly knows a great melody when it springs on him. If you like story songs, well, you may just fall in love. Some songs are serious and some are utterly ridiculous, but Joseph’s smooth voice and catchy choruses will rope you in until you find yourself humming them indefinitely.

In the 80’s “Pizza Joe” wrote an ode to Food Not Bombs, which at least in my mind should be the anthem for the anti-bomb, poverty fighting movement. Warning: This song is memorable, as are most of Joseph Camuglia’s songs. Tessa first heard “Let’s Make Pizza” in a friend’s living room jam session in Chicago. This group of friends said they had learned the song at a music festival when some random guy wandered by their campsite and sang it to them. Fast forward 10 years later, Tessa is thousands of miles away in Portland, OR at a house show that melts into an open mic. A random guy is there, and he plays the pizza song. Tessa runs into the living room exclaiming, “You’re that guy! I heard your song once 10 years ago and here you are! Who are you?”

Who is Joseph Camuglia indeed? A really nice guy with a penchant for adventure and imagination.
